The new Hinesville Library was made possible through the one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). Without SPLOST, this wonderful facility would not have been possible. The facility is 25,000 square feet and has both children and adult computer labs and areas designated for both children and adult reading. This facility was built with $4.74 million of SPLOST funding; not one cent of property tax was used. Only the brown penny that we pay extra on goods and services was used to pay for this great place.
Not only those who live here help pay for facilities like these, but all whose who travel or passed through here help pay for this Library and many other facilities that are much needed here in our County.
